Thank you for bringing this up. I've had responders also commenting on the distraction. When I initially prepared our survey to go online, I was interested in an small/tiny exclamation point (not red!) as the required marker rather than the star. But your suggestion of offering options for show/no show and choice of option is appreciated!
This suggestion is great! Eliminates time spent on setting up the questions which is also less frustrating and more user-friendly! However, the option to change the font of each question needs to remain in place once the font for the total survey is determined. Different questions sometimes require different fonts for emphasis, meaning, and aesthetics.
This is a good idea, except for enabling it only at the corporate and above levels. As a student researcher, it has been necessary to demonstrate to participants how to access the survey, indicate their answers, and submit their answers. To do this, it was necessary for me to make copies, then make overhead transparencies, etc. Using a powerpoint download would have been much simpler all the way around. We "poor" students need this little bit of help, too!
I have encountered this delay and inefficiency, as well. What if the email list were saved with ability for future editing, enabling email notification sent only to those addresses we wish to send it by placing a check in a box? Or having a dropdown box with all the emails we've compiled and having an ablity to highlight those we wish to send notification to? Or something along those lines? My most frustrating moments were when I dealt with my email lists. I eventually abandoned the SC email and used my own att.net address book, and also furnished the link to the survey page within the email reminder. Worked well, since most of the participants did place the link in their bookmarks since it was a weekly survey tracking change over time..
Excellent suggestion!! In working with the surveys on a weekly and sometimes daily basis, I find this one of the most tedious and aggravating factors of the surveys.....must go to different pages to do the very same task, but a different survey. A dropdown box is a solution that would work for me! Thank you!! R
