Adjusting the Text Box Size in a spreadsheet response
Posted by survey 06/16/2008 12:00 AM PDT
I may not have figured out how to do this properly. But it appears that there is no setting to adjust the width of the text boxes in a spreadsheet question. This is doable for other questions by adjusting the Answer Width. But in the spreadsheet question it does not have the same effect. Instead of widening the boxes, it simply spaces out the columns more. This is useful, but it would be even better if the boxes could be widened as well. In the question I am dealing with, I would like people to enter vehicle information, which requires a little more space than what is normally required for a typical number.

One additional issue in this respect is that I have found that the text box widths are different for different browsers. For instance, with IE their longer, Firefox a little shorter, and in Safari their really small. Having the ability to adjust text box with in spreadsheet questions would make this effect less noticeable.
