Allow default setting for matrix questions
Currently the single-line question allows setting defaults for both checkboxes and radio buttons. The matrix question does not allow setting defaults. Add the ability to set default values to the matrix question.

Ability to use data for drop-downs in more than one question
Store the answer data for drop-down questions separate from the question so that it can be used in more than one question. For example, an employee list could be used as the drop-down data for the questions "Who are you?" and "Who is your supervisor?". Currently the selections for the drop down must be cut/pasted into each of the questions individually - and then maintained in each of the questions individually. Provide the ability to store and maintain this data in a central object that can be referenced by any number of questions.

Display Answer Options in Columns
Suppose a question has a lot of answer options, respondents have to scroll to go through all the answer options. They cannot look at all the answer options simultaneously. So for ease of use can the answer options be set in multiple columns? This way all the answer options are displayed on the same page and so easier to answer.

Pass code (Unique Alphanumeric) Verification / Validation based on pre-loaded values
Posted by jfr 09/30/2008 03:30 AM PDT
Is it possible to verify / validate values entered by respondents on the Survey against a pre-loaded list? We have pass codes (Passwords) for our respondents and respondents should only be allowed to take the survey if they have the correct pass code / password. The unique password option will not work here as email addresses also need to be uploaded for unique password. However, in this case we do not have the email addresses available.

Web services for custom integration
It would be really great for our company if you provided web services for subscribers - either XMLRPC or SOAP that we could integrate with. We could allow users to view ideas in IdeaScale from our website and a desktop widget application and even vote on them from it.
The RSS feeds allow us to pull information on the ideas we have entered, however the HTML formatting already in the data makes it difficult to display in the way we want. It would be amazing if we could just get a straight XML representation of our ideas to do with as we please.
I think this would really open IdeaScale up to third party "mashups" and create a lot more popularity for it.

Assigning specific values for reports
Currently QPro assigns the first option of a multiple choice as 1, the second as 2 etc. It also automatically assigns 0 if no choice was selected. It would be good if you could assign your own answers because e.g. setting N/A as 88 or assigning 99 when nothing is answered.

multichoice - multicolumn
Posted by ron 09/10/2008 09:53 AM PDT
If you have 25 or say 50 choices in a multichoice question there should be a way to show the answers/choices in more then one columns.
We are launching a survey tomorrow and would really like some type of HTML or quick fix.

Survey/Report Titles included in emailed or printed report standard reports
I had posted this question before but I have an additional request. QuestionPro has now included titles on screen but when you "print/email" the report - the title disappears. Also, it would be very useful to have the survey title in the email subject (not just "survey report"). If you have many surveys and they are all coming into your inbox it is difficult to determine which one is which.

First Name/Last Name Field not displaying in results
Posted by kstewart 09/02/2008 12:00 AM PDT
I sent out a company wide survey and loaded data in the first name, last name, and all custom variable fields. When I retrieved the results, the first name/last name field is not showing up in the reports. I chatted with Support (Lijo) who informed me that there is nothing from his end that he can do. I REALLY needed that data to show up in my reports for reporting to EEOC. Seems like I'm screwed. Can someone please provide help?

Ballot Box Stuffing
Posted by wolfson 08/30/2008 12:00 AM PDT
This system is supposed to be able to stop people from voting more than once. That is true if the person uses the same computer. But I have discovered that if I simply go to another computer, I am able to take the survey again. So it seems Ballot box stuffing is still possible with this system. The survey itself should have an ID number associated with it so if the survey is passed on to another computer, the survey cannot be taken again. That will truly prevent Ballot Box Stuffing.

Row Level Security for Survey Data
It'd be great to be able to enable row level security on a data set. In other word, I'd like to create a survey for different sections of the country, then create dashboard accounts that only have access to various sections of the country (ie, give the Northeast sales team access to only responses from the Northeast).

Save and Continue Later: return to current page not automatically to next page
Posted by izolda2 08/27/2008 12:00 AM PDT
I propose that the Save and Continue Later button returns the user to the current page and does not bump the user automatically to the next page of the survey. Even though the button is at the end of the page many of the users on my surveys have scrolled through the questions and, knowing they did not have answers, chose to Save and Continue Later. And, since those questions went unanswered and they were returned automatically to the next page of the survey, that data was omitted.

Improve accessibility
Posted by chris.h 08/21/2008 12:00 AM PDT
Our client has to comply with accessibility guidelines that includes text resizing with browsing resolution. It would good if this could be added as a survey layout option or CSS provided to allow this.

Save email reminder before sending
Posted by thomas 08/20/2008 12:00 AM PDT
It's too easy to edit an email that you're going to send out, then hit the 'send email' button before you've hit the 'save' email button. A pop-up needs to come up which says "Do you want to save the changes you made to the email before you send it?"

Sorting Surveys By Name

We should be able to sort the surveys by name.

Custom Respindent Landing Page
Posted by info 08/18/2008 12:00 AM PDT
I would love to be able to have each respondant go to a customized page, based on info passed along in their e-mail. I know that you can customize some fields in the e-mail (FirstName, LastName, etc), but is it possible to have each person click on the link in their e-mail and see a different Survey Start page based on those custom fields?

Survey/Report Titles included in emailed or printed report standard reports Completed
When emailing or printing a standard report the name/title of the survey is not included in the report. So when I have multiple surveys and I am reporting all of the emails have the same "sender" - noreply@questionpro.com and the header of the email is "survey report" but no information about which survey the report was generated from! I have many survey running at the same time and I would like to be able to tell them apart and idetify them.
Can we have survey titles included in reports??

Generating Reports for Completed Responses

Enable "write" capability to existing survey data
Posted by jayf 08/05/2008 12:00 AM PDT
It would be nice to be able to create additional fields/columns and to be able to "write" (or add) additional data into the existing survey data, directly through the user interface.
For instance, in the Response Viewer, one can then categories or add comments directly to the responses so that they show up when downloading reports.
This is particularly beneficial if one would like to code and tabulate the survey comments.
(Please note that this may be an addition to Idea# 471 Posted By: kevin.wynne. Thanks Kevin)

Allow user to select what info is sent in an Action Alert email
Posted by jayf 08/05/2008 12:00 AM PDT
There are two options that can be chosen as to what info gets sent out in an Action Alert email:
1) Include survey response with notification 2) Include Custom Variables/System Variable Details
When option 1 is UNchecked, nothing is included in the email. When option 1 is CHecked, the following is included, in addition to the questions and responses:
Response Details ID Timestamp IP Address Time Taken Email Address Email List Integration/Custom Tags Custom 0 Custom 1 Custom 2 Custom 3 Custom 4 Custom 5 Geo Coding Country Region City Area Code DMA Code Suggestion: Allow user to select what info is sent in an action alert email, or at least give the option to just include the questions and responses only.

Changing Multiple Settings on a Question
When editing more than one setting on a question, you currently have to change the settings on one tab, save, then re-open the edit screen and make the change on the next tab, save again. There should either be a save and continue button or have the application automatically save your changes if you move to a different tab. See vid where I change the question name, then change the font. Only the font change is saved. See example here

Help Section Not Reflective of the users screens
The help section that is available is a really good tool, however it appears that the QP software was updated and the screenshots no longer match what the user sees. This can be frustrating trying to find the mentioned button or setting when it has been moved from when the help section was created.

Static list of "My Surveys" on sidebar to
Posted by R.T. 07/12/2008 12:00 AM PDT
Updating/altering 2+ surveys in a sitting is arduous --
how about offering a static survey link to the surveys one has developed in the sidebar....allowing one to access the same page (task) for each individual survey during the same sitting....eliminating a need for clicks on several tabs and links to make modifications/updates?
Example: 3 surveys....1 developer.... question/response modification needed....developer accesses one page in one of the surveys and modification is made....click on sidebar link to access the same page for modification in each different survey.
